The Afterparty

The Day After: We had a surprise reception at the office, the colleagues organized a cake ceremony. Paul did a short speech, and the D'isney Snel cake was cut. Great to see the folks in the office were so engaged in the teams' achievement.

Day 8 - Final Finish

The team had a rough day today. There was lots of rain in the Ardennes and GPS issues caused the team get lost and to be the last one to get to Margraten, to start the last phase of the Tour for Life, the ride to the Cauberg in Valkenburg.

Day 8 - Final Stage

Today is the finish in Holland. After 8 days, 1250km, heat, cold, rain and sunshine, flat tyres and an accident the team will arrive in Valkenburg at 3pm today.

Day 7 - They did it!

Riders had the longest day of the tour, 11 and a half hours on the road (inlcuding a chinese lunch in Luxembourg.

Day 7 - Almost done 225Km

Our heroes are almost done with the day before the last, the incredible journey of 225km. The weather is hot, close to 30C. Let's tweet them over the finish!

Day 7 - The Incredibles

Today is going to be a long ride, 225km to Grand Halleux, north of Bastogne, which might take 10 hours to complete. The start is early, 7:15, so we had to get up really early, while still dark.

Day 6 - Ouch, Riders Hit Tarmac

You may have seen it in the tweets, Menno and Lennart crashed into the road 3km before the finish!

Day 6 - Another rainy start

Day 6 started with a little rain, as well as after being woken up overnight several times by some french partymakers (and the occasional snoring of someone whose name is not to be mentioned just yet).

Day 5 - First video

We promised to provide video material of our heroes. We actually collected quite a bit, but uploading it for you to view is somewhat difficult. Today we hopefully manage to get the first video uploaded, Mc Donalds upload speeds are limited :-)

The one below is a low resolution, higher resolution will be added asap.

Day 5 - How did they do this?

The boys went really fast today. After a rainy start the weather cleared quite nicely. They managed to get to the finish and the campsite at the same time as the support team, which is quite amazing, knowing I only spent 30 mins lunch break updating the blog and doing some grocery shopping. We arrived at 16:00, and as camp was not yet ready, it was a team excercise to get it all setup.

Aren't they cute

This morning we decided to provide a more intimate view of the riders, as they look after 4 days of riding. As you can imagine, the ride is taking it's toll. Do you recognize them, do they look similar to how you remember them leaving for the tour last week? Remember these photos were taken just before the start of the day, at around 8am, so they might still look a little sleepy, but they had to wake up shortly anyway, as they were leaving at 8:30am.

We will do another series right before the end of the tour and look for the differences.

Day 5 - Rainy start

Day 5 of the tour started this morning somewhat wet. It was raining lightly overnight, it did not stop until just before departure. Sky looked much better when the riders left, and by now, the weather is great, sunshine and not too hot.
